ELDER LAW

We have a special connection to seniors.

Our firm has proudly represented many senior citizens.

Seniors are often the ones most vulnerable to others' misconduct.

We have handled all sorts of cases for older clients including falls, nursing home incidents, wheelchair injuries and other accidents.

We handled a case for a 98-year old woman who tripped getting out of an elevator. We advanced the case in court, did all of the necessary depositions, and got a terrific, six-figure result for her in a very short time.

Recently, we settled a medical negligence case for $2.4 million for the death of a wonderful 72-year-old man who left a wife and four adult children. He was not working and there was no claim for medical bills. His untimely death didn't cost his family any money, but the loss of love and guidance to his family was immeasurable.

Our client, an 84-year old nursing home resident, fell several times sustaining a broken hip. Upon returning to the nursing home, he suffered dislocation of his prosthesis, necessitating further surgery, and developed bedsores, which did not improve. The progression of the bedsores led to bilateral amputations of the lower limbs. We were able to settle this matter and obtain a significant amount for each of his four sons.

We obtained a settlement on the eve of trial for a 70-year old man who had at least one fall in a nursing home. The fall led to a fractured hip, which dislocated two times, and also the development of bedsores. His condition continued to deteriorate and both his legs were amputated.

Another recent medical negligence case involved the death of an 83-year-old man.

It can take tremendous legal energy, creativity and experience to prove that age has nothing to do with how active and vital a person is and the terrible loss their injury or death can cause.
One of our very first cases was for a business associate's elderly aunt who was knocked down by a car while crossing the street.

Since then lawyers have referred us cases for their own parents and grandparents.

We make an extra effort to listen to their special concerns and to be responsive.

As a result, we have won many important verdicts and settlements for older individuals.

Please call us.

We have the patience and the knowledge to handle the special needs of our elder clients.
