PRODUCT LIABILITY

Manufacturers have a duty to make their products reasonably safe. That is their responsibility under the law.

That is their duty, whether the products are simple everyday things or complex devices. It's their duty whether the product is made in or out of the United States. Whether the injury happens at work, in the home or anywhere else.

We have successfully handled product cases involving cars, trucks, toys, automatic doors, ladders, lawn chairs, punch presses, pharmaceuticals (drugs), snow blowers, elevators, tires and wheels (multi-piece wheels, like the RH5, and tire mismatches, like the 16"/16.5" tire and rims), latex gloves, food and beverage containers (soda pop bottle), factory equipment, farm equipment (anhydrous ammonia) and many others. Another hardworking client watched his co-worker trying to put a truck tire on a rim and went to help. The other worker was called away and our client tried to finish inflating the tire when it exploded. It turned out to be a 16"/16 ½ " tire and wheel mismatch that settled for upper six figures.

On his first day on the job, another client was sent to help tow abandoned cars off a vacant lot. While adding air to one of the old tires, the wheel exploded and hit him in the face and body. He was taken away by ambulance, and no one was able to examine the wheel involved. Our experts proved it was an RH5 multi-piece rim and we proved who manufactured the different pieces. Our client received a very favorable settlement.

Working with co-counsel in South Carolina, we have settled more than a dozen latex allergy cases on behalf of Illinois healthcare workers over the past two years. The cases were filed against several latex glove manufacturers and distributors. The settlement amounts were reached under an agreement of confidentiality.
